MAP for Dental Investments CermaDent 159

A micronised monoammonium phosphate powder stabilised to proven shelf life and maintenance of expansion properties in investment mixes. Milled to known parameters using SPC (Statistical process Control) techniques and measured in actual investment mixes together with MgO from the CerMag range Part of the programme of continued improvement of materials for dental investments from Cermatco Ltd. Advantages derived from this micronised powder are:

  • Stable phosphate with proven minimum moisture pickup under warehouse conditions and in foil sachets
  • Coarse particles eliminated
  • Lump forming eliminated
  • Total control of fluid properties

Particle Size Distribution using Cilas 1064L Laser

Stability Measured during storage in paper sack lined with plastic and heat-sealed under warehouse conditions. No change in expansion values.

Controls

  • Particle Size Data by Cilas
  • pH in aqueous solution
  • Reactivity measured against standard MgO – best performance with CerMag FC25
  • Expansion and Working Time against controls at customers options
  • Tailor-made match of both MgO and MAP in a dental investment
  • Additives may be co-milled to improve the reactivity of the MAP under Speed-Mix conditions

Chemical Analysis - Cermadent

Oxide %
P2O5 60
NH3 14.5
H2O (110 degrees) 0.2
pH 4.46

Bulk Density 1.12 g/ml (tapped)

Points to note:

  • Reduction in finer fractions to control hygroscopic
  • Reduction of coarse fractions to reduce problems with unreacted MAP and improve surface finish of the cast piece
  • Controls are set to within microns to ensure reproducibility
  • Sharp peak ensuring high exotherm and compatibility of similar sharp peaks in the particle size distribution of the CerMag 25 range of MgO

Packaging Options

  • 25 kilo paper/plastic sacks on euro pallets
  • 1000-1500kg lined big-bags on euro pallets
